About me

I am always looking for ways of creating engaging experiences that enable players to make impactful decisions and lose themselves in a state of flow.

I like to play around with game mechanics from a variety of genres to explore unique and juicy gameplay scenarios. Some of these experiments turn into small personal projects - some end up filling notebook pages waiting to be realized when the time is right. I never stop growing my game design repertoire of tools, features and mechanics that create unique and interesting games.

Adding juice to anything is one of my favorite things while working on projects. Creating play experiences that feel great and captivating players with a true sense of feeling the game enhances even the most trivial gameplay tasks and results in a lot of fun and happy people.

My bachelor thesis focusses on the transformative effect on players - using the medium to unobtrusively teach and test meaningful knowledge through play. This can be done with an educational purpose in mind - my thesis explored the opportunities for “entertainment games” to use transformative mechanics to build the bridge between transformative and entertaining game content.

Designer

I enjoy playing all kinds of games - physical and digital. Always searching for the next Indie-Gem.

Playing games with friends, playing games alone and then telling all my friends to check them out, too - you name it.

Games always played a central part in my life. The Stanley Parable and Guild Wars gave me the inspiration to start my journey that led me to where I am today.

Since then I am not only enjoying games for the quality time with friends or the amazing stories that can be experienced (I am talking about you Outer Wilds) - I also enjoy the never ending creativity and love that developers from all over the world put into these games that will never stop to amaze and inspire me.

Motivation

I value fun and teamwork above all.

In my experience great results come from engaged and happy groups of people - and I want to always support that principle.

A goal-oriented team needs to have fun together to really push beyond the ordinary and achieve greatness.

Throughout my life in cologne I participated in various subcultural organizations - creating festivals, flea-markets, exhibitions, spaces and much more with friends. These participations taught me valuable lessons and strengthened my desire to create awesome experiences to inspire people.
